New build painting follows a precise process designed around the specific requirements of fresh construction surfaces. On newly plastered walls, we apply a mist coat — a diluted first coat of emulsion (typically 50% paint, 50% water) that penetrates the porous plaster and creates a stable base for subsequent coats. After the mist coat has dried fully (minimum 24 hours), we apply two full coats of the specified emulsion, sanding lightly between coats for a perfectly smooth finish. For snagging rectification, we conduct a systematic room-by-room assessment of all paintwork defects — poor coverage, runs, misses, brush marks, roller stipple, and cutting-in errors — photograph and document each defect, then rectify to the original specification or an agreed improved standard. All work is documented with photographs and a completion report. For show flat preparation, we work to the highest possible finish standard, understanding that the show flat is the primary sales tool for the development.
