Our damp and mould treatment process begins with a thorough moisture survey using professional damp meters, thermal imaging, and visual assessment. We identify the type and source of moisture: rising damp (moisture drawn up from the ground through porous masonry), penetrating damp (water entering through the building envelope from rain, leaking gutters, or defective rendering), or condensation (warm, moist air meeting cold surfaces). Each type requires a different treatment approach. For mould, we first kill all active growth using professional-grade fungicidal solutions that penetrate beyond the visible surface mould to eliminate embedded spores. Affected areas are then cleaned thoroughly and allowed to dry completely. We apply specialist anti-mould primers — such as Zinsser Mould Killer Primer or Dulux Trade Damp & Mould Paint — that create a hostile environment for future mould growth. For rising damp, we can apply damp-proof courses by injection or recommend specialist contractors for more extensive remediation. For penetrating damp, we identify and advise on the external source. For condensation, we provide practical ventilation advice and may recommend extractor fans or positive input ventilation systems. Only once the moisture issue is resolved and surfaces are properly primed do we proceed with decoration.
