We stand behind every brushstroke. Every painting and decorating project we complete in Chelsea is backed by our comprehensive two-year workmanship guarantee — our promise that the quality of our work will endure long after the dust sheets have been folded away.

This is not a marketing gimmick or a vague reassurance. It is a formal, written commitment that forms part of every contract we issue. We believe that if you invest in having your home professionally decorated, you deserve the confidence that comes with knowing the work is fully guaranteed.

From the date of project completion and sign-off, your paintwork and decorating is guaranteed for a full 24 months. If any defect arises that is attributable to our workmanship during that period, we will return to your property and rectify it at no cost to you. No quibbling, no excuses, no call-out fees.

This guarantee covers all work carried out by our team, whether that is interior emulsion, exterior masonry coatings, woodwork finishing, wallpaper installation, or any specialist decorative treatment. It applies equally to a single room refresh and a whole-house redecoration.

Our guarantee covers workmanship — the quality of our preparation, application, and finishing. It does not extend to issues caused by factors outside our control:

• Structural movement: Cracks caused by settlement, subsidence, or thermal expansion and contraction of the building fabric. These are building issues, not painting defects.
• Damp and moisture ingress: Paint failure caused by rising damp, penetrating damp, or condensation that was not present or identifiable at the time of painting. Where we identify damp risk, we note it in our quotation and recommend treatment before decorating.
• Accidental damage: Knocks, scratches, scuffs, or other physical damage to painted or papered surfaces after completion.
• Normal wear and tear: Gradual fading from prolonged sun exposure, minor scuffing in high-traffic areas, or general ageing of the finish over time.
• Alterations by others: Any work carried out by third parties on or adjacent to our finished surfaces, including plumbing, electrical, or building work that disturbs the decoration.
• Manufacturer paint defects: In the rare event of a batch defect in the paint itself, this falls under the paint manufacturer’s warranty rather than our workmanship guarantee. We will, however, assist you in pursuing a claim with the manufacturer.

If you notice a defect that you believe falls within our guarantee, the process is straightforward:

1. Contact us by phone on 020 8054 8756 or by email at contact@hampsteadrenovations.co.uk. Describe the issue and, if possible, send a photograph.
2. We arrange an inspection within 5 working days of your notification. One of our senior decorators will visit your property to assess the issue in person.
3. We confirm the assessment and, if the defect is covered under our guarantee, agree a convenient time to carry out the remedial work.
4. We complete the repair to the same standard as the original work, at no charge. Repairs are themselves guaranteed for the remainder of the original guarantee period.

In most cases, we are able to inspect and resolve guarantee claims within two weeks of initial contact. We treat every claim seriously and respond promptly — your satisfaction matters to us long after the invoice has been settled.

The best guarantee is one that never needs to be used. That is why we invest heavily in doing things right the first time. Our approach to quality includes:

• Thorough preparation: We spend as much time preparing surfaces as we do painting them. Sanding, filling, priming, and caulking are not shortcuts we take lightly — they are the foundation of a lasting finish.
• Premium materials: We use only professional-grade paints and materials from manufacturers we trust, including Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, and Dulux Trade. Cheap materials produce cheap results, and that is not what Chelsea homeowners expect.
• Experienced decorators: Every member of our team is a time-served painter and decorator. We do not use unskilled labour or subcontract to unknown parties.
• Final inspection: Every project undergoes a detailed walkthrough before handover. We check every surface in appropriate light conditions and rectify any imperfections before we consider the job complete.
• Photographic records: We document the condition of surfaces before work begins and photograph the completed work. This protects both you and us, and provides a clear reference point if any question arises later.
